The final price could also vary significantly between China and other markets if the phone receives a wider launch.
OnePlus 16 India Launch
The OnePlus 16’s India availability remains uncertain.
Some reports suggest that OnePlus could skip the standard OnePlus 16 in India and introduce the OnePlus 16R as the company’s flagship model in the country.

This means readers in India should wait for an official announcement before treating the reported India lineup as final.

The reported chipset is expected to belong to Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 family.
If the reported chipset is used in the final phone, it should support demanding apps, gaming and AI-related workloads, although actual performance will depend on the final hardware and software optimisation.
A reported AnTuTu V12 result of more than 5.38 million has been associated with a OnePlus 16 configuration featuring 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The chipset name and benchmark result have not been independently verified.
Benchmark scores can also vary depending on software, temperature, testing conditions and device configuration. They should not be treated as a direct measure of everyday performance.
OnePlus 16 Display and 165Hz Refresh Rate
The OnePlus 16 is reported to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution.
One of the most discussed display upgrades is the reported 165Hz system-wide refresh rate.
Reports and teasers indicate that the 165Hz refresh rate may work across the system rather than being restricted to selected games or apps.
The OnePlus 15 is also listed with a dynamic refresh rate of up to 165Hz, but the OnePlus 16 is reported to extend 165Hz support across the system.
Some reports also point to higher refresh rates during gaming. However, the exact gaming refresh rate and supported applications should be confirmed from OnePlus.

Reports based on the China listing indicate:

The higher 16GB + 1TB configuration could appeal to users who need large amounts of local storage, although pricing for each variant has not been announced.
OnePlus 16 Camera
Camera specifications are among the biggest reported upgrades for the OnePlus 16.
Some reports describe the 200MP main camera and two 50MP rear cameras as confirmed, but a complete official OnePlus camera specification sheet has not yet been published. Treat these details as reported rather than final.
The reported setup includes:
- 200MP main camera
- 50MP ultra-wide camera
- 50MP periscope telephoto camera
- 50MP front camera
Reports suggest that the 200MP sensor may measure around 1/1.4 inch and that the telephoto camera may use a periscope design. These details remain unconfirmed.
The reported camera configuration could represent a significant hardware change compared with the OnePlus 15, but real-world image quality will depend on sensor performance, image processing and software tuning.
OnePlus 16 Battery and Charging
Battery capacity could be another major change on the OnePlus 16.
The phone is reported to feature a 9,000mAh battery.
If confirmed, the reported 9,000mAh battery would be a substantial increase over the OnePlus 15’s reported battery capacity.
Reported charging specifications
| Feature | OnePlus 16 |
| Battery | 9,000mAh reported battery capacity |
| Wired charging | Up to 100W reported |
| Wireless charging | 50W reported |
The final battery and charging specifications have not yet been published in a complete official specification sheet.
A larger battery could provide more capacity for gaming, video playback and other demanding workloads, but actual battery life will also depend on display settings, processor efficiency, software optimisation and network usage.
OnePlus 16 Design and Colours
OnePlus has revealed the design of the OnePlus 16 in China.
Reports and official images suggest that the phone’s overall design is similar to the OnePlus 15, with a large rear camera module and rounded corners.
Three reported colour options include:
- Dark Forest
- Mars/Martian Masterpiece
- Tomorrow Starlight
The Tomorrow Starlight variant reportedly includes a distinctive rear lighting element. Its exact functions and supported notifications remain unconfirmed.
The lighting system is one of the more distinctive design elements shown in early OnePlus 16 material.
The final availability of individual colours may vary by market.
OnePlus 16 Software
Reports indicate that the China model may use ColorOS 17 based on Android 17, but this remains unconfirmed until OnePlus publishes the final software details.
The software experience outside China may differ because OnePlus uses different software branding and distribution strategies across markets.
For India and other international markets, the final software details should be confirmed when OnePlus announces regional availability.
OnePlus 16 Gaming Features
Gaming appears to be an important focus for the upcoming phone.
Reports and teasers point to gaming-focused hardware and software, but the names and specifications of these technologies remain unconfirmed.
The reported 165Hz system-wide refresh rate could also be relevant to gaming and general scrolling.
A reported 185Hz gaming mode has also appeared in coverage, although the exact implementation and supported games should be confirmed by OnePlus.
If the reported chipset is used in the final phone, it should provide the hardware platform needed for demanding mobile games. However, actual gaming performance will depend on cooling, software optimisation, sustained performance and game support.
