TikTok is a booming app and all over the United States, the app is used excessively. The users on TikTok are getting the amount of all the daily news they need from just this Video App through some short clips posted by the other users of the app.
The number of TikTokers that are dependent on Video apps like TikTok to get the news daily is increasing at a high speed. Even the users are admitting that they are getting to see the average amount of news from this Chinese social media platform.
A new study from the Research Center of Pew has reported that more and more Americans are using TikTok to get daily updates on the latest happenings all around the country and not to mention different parts of the world.
The studies have also found that approximately 22% of users are said to be getting information about their daily news from the video-sharing app as compared to the figures that were found two years ago in 2020.

The research also resulted in saying that almost around 33% of TikTok users are using this social media app to be updated with all the latest news in the United States.
Moreover, it has been noticed that TikTok is being used widely in the United States in comparison to other social media apps such as Facebook or Instagram or Snapchat. Not only this but the other social media handles are also experiencing a major decline in news consumption in comparison to the TikTok App.
For instance, Facebook which had almost around 54% of users consuming news daily in 2020 has been reduced to 44% at present which is not a good decline rate for Facebook people.
Not only this but with the increased news consumption on the TikTok app, the news consumption rate on Twitter and YouTube is also declining.
Some other apps reduced their consumption in 2020.
Twitter had an almost around 59% news consumption rate by its users in 2020 which is slightly reduced down to around 53% now. Whereas, YouTube had a news consumption rate of about 32% also in the year 2020 this is now declined down to 30% this very year.
Though the Video App TikTok is seeing a high rise in the number of news consumption users daily, it is hard hitting on other social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter or YouTube per se.
On one hand, it is good news for the owner of TikTok, but it is also sad news hitting the owners of the other social media handles. TikTok is making other apps hard hit the bottom which is not good news for them.
But in addition to this, another app which is Twitch has also been seeing rising numbers in the form of news consumption users. Twitch had around 11% of its users for news consumption which can now be seen rising by 2% which can be good news for them too. All in all, it shows that TikTok goes beyond entertainment and is also an information bulletin for its users.
